Computerization of Emporium

The Sagarika Emporium has around 2000 items for sale to tourists and general citizens of the Islands. The items as supplied by more than 40 suppliers across the entire A&N Islands on periodically, on the basis of supply order placed by the emporium. During peak tourist season, the Emporium does sales for more than 400 customer's daily and total no. of sales bills is around 40000 per year. The Billing and Accounting functions of the emporium have been computerized through specialized software developed by NIC, Port Blair. The software has been developed in open source platform and successfully implemented from April 2008 onwards. The software is called e-BASIC(Electronically Billing Accounting System & Inventory Control)

The salient features of the software are:

Computerized billing of sales.

Automatic generation of supply orders of supplier based on reorder level.

Bar Coding facilities

Generation of different kinds of day end, month end reports, MIS reports, reconciliation reports etc.

Features like purchase return, credit sales etc.
