Dr Tamaswati Ghosh

CEO

A graduate of Queen's University, Canada (BSc Honors, Biochemistry & BA, Mathematics) and Imperial College London, UK (PhD, Molecular Biosciences), Tamaswati decided to pursue her interest in technology-based entrepreneurship. She has served as COO in SEAl, a leading SAP ERP partner in East Africa. As Director of Skylark, an FMCG company in Kenya, she led initiatives to bring professional organization and accountability. She is also the CEO of IITM's sector-specific incubator, IITM's Rural Technology and Business Incubator (RTBI).

With Masters in Physics & Computer Applications, Jaya has over 20 yrs of varied technology experience, from teaching & research to software development. Out of this, she has over 6 years of personal entrepreneurial experience, as a partner in a start-up venture in Israel. She has been associated with RTBI for 5 years. Leading the agriculture initiative in RTBI to develop and implement technologies for the benefit of farmers, she has published papers in reputed journals and contributed chapters to books on Usability Research.

Shri S.K Zamir Ahmed born on 20th June 1962 started his professional career as a Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy/ Extension) in the year 1994 at KVK, Port Blair, and thereafter became Senior Scientist (Agrl. Extn.) in 2007 and Principal Scientist in 2013 at ICAR- Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair. He has been the in-charge of Prioritization, Monitoring and Evaluation Cell and contributes to overall management of research projects of the institute. As Head, Social Science Section, involved in various research related to technology assessment, refinement, farming system, technology transfer and impact of changing climate on island agriculture.

His major contribution towards institute building are in overall coordination of establishment of KVK at Car Nicobar in Nicobar district in 2010, an Out Reach Centre with the support of NABARD in 2009 and a KVK in 2011 for North & Middle Andaman District. He facilitated formation of Water User Association and integrated development of three clusters of villages through group approach for the first time in South Andaman. He spearheaded a number of technological demonstrations for popularization through Front Line Demonstrations covering 253.20 ha of area of crops mainly, HYV of vegetables, coconut ,arecanut, spices and fruit crops. He contributed in developing the rehabilitation model and extended technical expertise to A&N Administration for planning policy for restoration of agriculture in the island after the Tsunami. As a member, Task Force on ‘Biotechnology based Programme for Women (2009-2012), & for SC/ST Population and Rural Development , Govt. of India, Ministry of Science & Technology Dept. of Bio Technology, New Delhi (2014 onwards), he facilitated sanctioning of projects worth many crores in popularizing crops like tissue culture Banana, turmeric, ginger, medicinal plants, organic farming of horticulture produce, mushroom cultivation and vermin composting under homestead for NEH region, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Sholan Kashmir and A & N Islands. Besides as member of Rural Programme Advisory Committee, Department of Prasar Bharathi, Port Blair, he popularize horticulture and allied programmes through radio. He also contributed in introducing Broad bed & furrow system under RKVY by the A&N Administration.
