Any person intending to enter in a Sanctuary for;

  1. Investigation or study
  2. Photography
  3. Scientific research
  4. Tourism

may follow the following procedure:

Procedure for issue of permit to persons entering in National Parks and Sanctuaries for purpose (a), (b) & (c)

TA permit may be obtained from the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (WL)-cum-Chief Wildlife Warden, Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Professional using cine camera for making TV documentary films shall execute an agreement with the State Government.

A permit shall be valid for the period specified therein.

The fee for operating a camera to be paid in advance shall be as follows:

a) Professional photographers using SLR camera Rs.500/- per day and for feature film shooting Rs.10,000/- per day for Indians, Rs. 25,000 per day for Foreigners.
b)Professional using any type of cine camera for the purpose of making TV or documentary films on Wildlife

Rs.3000/- per day for Indians.

Rs. 10,000/- per day for Foreigners

A fee of Rs.500/- per person per day in respect of Indian Citizen and Rs.2,000/- per person per day in respect of foreigners shall be charged for scuba diving.

Procedure for persons entering in National Parks and Sanctuaries for tourism purpose

An application in the specified form to be submitted to the Chief Wildlife Warden/Deputy Conservator of Forests/Divisional Forest Officer/ Assistant Conservator of Forests/Range Officer of their respective jurisdiction. On receipt of application and conduct of enquiry, the permission would be granted or rejected.

For the purpose of tourism, a permit shall be issued at the office or at the gate of Sanctuary or National Park on payment of fee.

Fee in respect of the permit granted shall be as follows:

  1. Entry fee in Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park and other island Sanctuary (in case of visitors not being students)

    a)Adults (Indian) Rs.75/- per person per day
    b)Children (Age group of 5 to 12 years) No Fee
    c)Foreigners

    Rs. 1000/- per person per day for adults

    Rs. 500/- per person per day for children

    d)Foreign Yacht/ Ship/ Boat Rs. 5,000/- per vessel per day
    d)Indian Yacht/ Ship/ Boat Rs. 2,500/- per vessel per day
  2. For other Sanctuary and National Park

    a)Adults (Indian) Rs. 50/- per person per day
    b)Children (Age group of 5 to 12 years) No Fee
    c)Foreigners

    Rs. 500/- per person per day for Adults

    Rs. 200/- per person per day for Children (upto age of 12 Years)

  3. Vehicle

    a)Motor cycle/ Scooter/ Auto/ Cycle propelled by mechanical power Rs.20/- (Rupees twenty only) per day.
    b)Light motor vehicle (car or jeep) Rs.30/- (Rupees thirty only) per day.
    c)Heavy motor vehicle such as a bus or truck Rs.100/-(Rupees One Hundred only) per day*.
    d)Cycle and other vehicle manually operated Free

    * rates inclusive of entrance fee of driver.

  4. Boat permitted for plying for tourism purpose.

    a)Boat carrying less than 10 persons Rs. 15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen thousand only) per annum*.
    b)Boat carrying between 11-50 persons Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) per annum *.
    c)Boat carrying between 51 and above Rs.1,50,000/- (Rupees One Lakh and Fifty thousand only) per annum *.

    * rates inclusive of entrance fee of rider.

Timeframe for issue of entry permits :15 days for bonafide applicants from the date of application.
