The Ministry of Environment,Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India has prescribed policies and procedures for protection of Forest & Wildlife uniformaly in the country. The Ministry has issued notifications for non-forest activities in the forest area by way of Acts, Rules and Regulations. This includes Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) legislations also.The ministry has also issued guidelines to State Governments for carrying out these activities.

The Andaman and NIcobar Islands follow the notifications and guidelines of the ministry in total. The non-forest activities proposed to be carried out by the A & N Administration as well as other offices of Government of India in A & N and Non- Government organizations etc. have to comply with these notifications and guidelines of GoI.
